Rob Parker doesn’t think Dak Prescott can lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl

There has been plenty of debate as to whether or not Dak Prescott is deserving of the $40 million a year he is reportedly asking the Dallas Cowboys for, and there has also been a lot of discourse over whether or not he is capable of leading the Cowboys to a Super Bowl.

Fox Sports analyst Rob Parker is on the side that says Prescott can’t do that:

Of course, Parker has also said that Tom Brady has been “lucky” for his entire career, so take his comments on Prescott with a grain of salt.

Regardless, he may have a point here: does Prescott have the ability to be a Super Bowl quarterback?

Obviously, we can point to quarterbacks like Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson who won Super Bowls in spite of being, well, not elite at their position, but those were very unique circumstances, as their respective teams (the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers) had two of the greatest defenses we have ever seen.

The Cowboys are a good defensive ballclub, but they are far from being all-time great in that category, and it’s not like they have an unlimited supply of offensive weapons like the Kansas City Chiefs or Los Angeles Rams, either.

While Prescott has made a couple of Pro Bowls, he has largely been a game manager throughout his three-year career, as his career-high for touchdowns is 23 and he is yet to throw for 4,000 yards.

Whether or not that will be enough to lead the Cowboys to a championship one day is certainly debatable.
