Nebraska’s Defense Is Looking Awful vs. Minnesota Tonight

Nebraska is without quarterback Adrian Martinez against Minnesota this evening. The Huskers’ offense is struggling as a result, as Scott Frost’s team is scoreless through one-plus quarter.

The bigger problem for Nebraska right now, though, is the defense.

The Huskers’ defense is getting gashed by a not-so-impressive Minnesota rushing offense.

It’s Minnesota 14, Nebraska 0 through one-plus quarter. Frost’s defense has been unable to get stops.

This is a Minnesota team that averaged 2.6 yard per carry the first four games of the season. They are at 11.8 ypc right now. Gashing the #Huskers.

Now 12.1 ypc

I really thought we’d see Nebraska’s defense look better than this tonight. Especially when you see Minnesota didn’t even run for 100 yards on Purdue or Georgia Southern. They have 133 already on the ground.

Nebraska’s offense was expected to struggle a bit with Martinez out tonight. The Huskers’ defense, however, simply needs to play better.

Frost’s defense has gotten torched on multiple occasions this season and, if the same happens against Minnesota tonight, the Huskers will have no chance.

Nebraska’s defense needs to tighten up – and fast.

The Nebraska-Minnesota game is on FS1.
