MLB Star’s Wife Has Officially Filed For Divorce

An MLB star infielder and his pop singer wife have officially filed for divorce, according to documents obtained by TMZ Sports.

The news outlet is reporting that Ben Zobrist, 37, and his wife of 14 years, Julianna Zobrist, have officially decided to separate.

TMZ Sports had the details:

There’s been speculation about their relationship after Zobrist left the team last week due to “personal reasons” … and Julianna deleted her Twitter and scrubbed her IG of most of their pics together.

Court records in Illinois show the singer filed the docs on Monday … confirming the split is in the works.

Julianna Zobrist is a Christian pop singer with more than 100,000 followers on Instagram. She performed “God Bless America” before Game 4 of the 2016 World Series.

One of my dearest friends thinks very differently than I do. She believes differently. She votes differently. She parents differently. But that does not change our friendship or Love for one another. Why? Because we value understanding one another over being right or being the same. Love will never condition Itself upon conformity. Judgement does that. #unitynotuniformity

I sat staring out at a sea of over 41,000 people attending @cubs opening day today and my mind slipped back into a very familiar daydream. Not to take a stab at throwing a strike, but to ask a very common question that pesters humanity like a sore on the heel of your foot that will not heal. A question that has always hit the nerve of insecurity in my own life. One that I must exercise my courage daily to combat: Am I enough? Am I okay just as I am? Some may consider this scenario depressing. But for me it is utterly liberating…Because the truth is, I am 34 and have never met someone I agree with 100% of the time. In fact, I don’t think there is anyone who could stand on that mound and be met with complete approval. Without a doubt there would be someone in the stands of Life who would find fault. Theological, political, parenting style, outfit choice, diet, relational, the list goes on. So where is the LIBERATION in this daydream? To me it is this: Being approved and liked by everyone is a pipe dream. Straight up Santa, Spider-Man, Teletubbie fairytale. THEREFORE. I say Own your life. Invest in yourself. Become who only YOU know you are meant to be. Step off the approval seeking mound and stop apologizing for it … there is an Army of Lovers beside you, dropping their gloves in the dirt and doing the same thing. you are beautiful. you are Intended. and you are loved. …read more
