Mark Dantonio Not Happy With Reporter’s Question After Loss

Wisconsin’s 38-0 win against Michigan State was certainly another statement win for the Badgers. It also looks really bad for the Spartans, who have been a serious offensive rut for a few years now. Questions have been mounting for head coach Mark Dantonio.

In the off-season, Dantonio opted not to replace members of his offensive staff. Instead, he did a bizarre shake-up, switching the position assignments for many of his coaches.

Considering the team’s outdated offensive philosophy, it seems like a pretty questionable strategy, vs. actually making substantive changes and moving the offense forward.

The results clearly haven’t been there. Michigan State is 73rd in the FBS in scoring offense, and 81st in total offense on the season.

After the game, Hondo Carpenter of SpartanNation.com asked Dantonio about that decision, in light of the shuitout loss. The longtime Spartans coach didn’t take it kindly, calling it a “dumbass question.”

I asked Dantonio if not changing offensive staff was a mistake and if not how does he fix offense. Called it a, “Dumb ass question.”

I guess it would be tough for Mark Dantonio to acknowledge that he messed up not firing members of his staff, but it also isn’t going to instill much confidence in fans coming off of an awful loss.

Michigan State is 4-3 on the season, and all three losses are to ranked teams (Arizona State, Ohio State, and now Wisconsin), but only the Sun Devils game was close.

The Spartans were completely outclassed by the Buckeyes and Badgers, and that is not where MSU fans want to be.
