WATCH: Cale Makar scores goal in Avalanche debut in Stanley Cup Playoffs

Cale Makar wasted little time Monday night proving if he was ready for his Avalanche and NHL debut against Calgary in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The kid can play.

Just 16 minutes into the first period, with Colorado leading 2-0 inside the Pepsi Center, forward Nathan MacKinnon dropped the puck off to a streaking Makar who received it in the high slot of the offensive zone while draped by Flames forward Mikael Backlund. Makar fought off the last-minute defense and snuck the puck past the left pad of Calgary goaltender Mike Smith.

Makar is only the seventh player in league history to score a playoff goal in his NHL debut.

The Avalanche led 3-0 entering the second period.
