A man was trying to evade arrest on the roof of an apartment building for nearly three hours on Thursday afternoon in Aventura.
The U.S. Marshals Service, the primary federal agency responsible for fugitive investigations, arrested the man at the Promenade at Aventura Apartments at 19680 E. Country Club Dr.
According to Officer Hans Maestre, a spokesman for the Aventura Police Department, the U.S. Marshals was executing a warrant when the man attempted to getaway.
Maestre said firefighters, police officers, and the SWAT team assisted the feds. The firefighters responded after the man allegedly poured gasoline and threatened to set a fire forcing officers to evacuate apartments.
