SAN JOSE — A major-injury crash closed all lanes of northbound Highway 17 at Interstate 280 for about 40 minutes Friday night.
The collision occurred shortly after 8 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs. A caller reported seeing a motorcycle crash into a car, which did not stop.
The motorcyclist was taken to Valley Medical Center with major injuries, according to the dispatch logs.
Additional details about the collision, including an update on the motorcyclist’s condition and a description of the vehicle that left the scene, were not immediately available.
The CHP closed all northbound lanes of Highway 17 about 8:20 p.m. and diverted traffic onto southbound Interstate 280. The roadway was reopened shortly before 9 p.m.
