The Wildcats have a clear path to the Pac-12 Championship game, while the loss for the Huskies makes it murkier with Oregon above them in the North division. This is certainly a big game for both, but for Arizona, this could be the most difficult matchup it has on its slate until the big meeting with the Ducks in November.
Quarterback Khalil Tate had a monster performance in Arizona’s, 35-30, win over Colorado, throwing for over 400 yards and connecting for three scores. The senior raised his touchdown total to nine on the season, but also added his fifth interception. This was his first game back from injury. As Tate goes, so goes Arizona. If it is to make a run to the championship game this season, he’ll need to continue to have great games like his one last weekend.
Washington’s shocking, 23-13, defeat on the road to Stanford took any and all control it had for conference title game chances. With two conference losses already on the season and Oregon looking like a dominant team, it’s a steep climb for Chris Petersen’s team. Jacob Eason completed less than 50 percent of his passes (15 for 35) and the ground game netted only 88 yards, numbers that won’t be good enough against a tough opponent.
