Frank Lampard has announced that he has decided to refresh his team in Chelsea by replacing Mason Mount with Callum Hudson-Odoi this afternoon.
The 19-year-old joins his compatriot from England while the blues change three times the team Tottenham defeated for today’s afternoon game against Southampton.
Jorginho replaces suspended Mateo Kovacic, while Emerson comes on for Marcos Alonso, who suffered a slight blow when he beat Spurs.
It was the decision to replace Mount that impressed in North London, which caught the attention of many before kick-off, as Lampard had the full schedule for his decision in mind.

“Callum is more about the short amount of time we have, a few games in a short amount of time,” Lampard told Amazon Prime.
“What we want the attacking players to do is give Callum some fresh legs to show what he can do here at home and hopefully refresh us a bit.”
The Blues will try to restore their six-point lead on the fifth spurs after Jose Mourinho’s side closed the gap with a 2-1 win over Brighton at the start of the kick-off.
Lampard added: “At home we know that we have not had the desired results lately.
“Sometimes the performance is there, but we’re not clinical. In both cases, we weren’t sure enough. We have to improve that if we want to get where we want to go.”
“It’s a different challenge than Tottenham, and it’s more about how we do it in general, in terms of our minds, our intentions, our urgency in our game, and I expect to see that.”
