Caltrain service delayed following San Bruno vehicle strike

SAN BRUNO – Caltrain is reporting delays after a train hit an unoccupied vehicle in San Bruno.

The collision, which involved a San Francisco Giants post-game special train, was reported about 10:20 p.m. near Herman Street.

The vehicle was blocking both tracks as of about 11:05 p.m.

Caltrain said southbound train no. 196 is delayed 32 minutes and northbound train no. 197 is delayed 11 minutes.

BART is providing mutual aid at its San Bruno station and honoring Caltrain tickets, according to Caltrain.
