Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury is in his first year as a head coach in the NFL, but even he shouldn’t make mistakes like he did on Thursday night.
Hosting the San Francisco 49ers, the Cardinals jumped out to an early 7-0 lead thanks to a touchdown run from newly acquired running back Kenyan Drake.
However, it was all 49ers after that as San Francisco closed on a 21-0 run to take a 21-7 lead into halftime.
Right before the half, San Francisco had the ball insider the Arizona five-yard line and decided to go for it on fourth down.
The Cardinals appeared to stuff a run and force a turnover on downs, but then the whistles blew. Kingsbury decided to take a timeout before the play, giving San Francisco another crack at it.
Fans immediately criticized the timeout call from Kingsbury.
I’m still optimistic about Kingsbury’s future in the league but he’s had some catastrophic in-game decisions this year

WTH is Kingsbury doing?

Jimmy Garoppolo found wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders for a short touchdown pass, giving the 49ers a 21-7 lead.
It’s a move that, had it worked out, Kingsbury would look like a genius. However, it didn’t and now the Cardinals face a two-touchdown deficit against one of the best defenses in the NFL.
Can Kyler Murray and the Cardinals offense find their rhythm and make a comeback? Stay tuned.
